The “Doyo Day” is related to Japanese traditional calendar, “Doyo” is date on 18-day before the first day of winter, spring, summer and autumn. Japanese people believed that eating eel (Japanese pronunciation starting from “u”) would make them healthy.
Moreover, eel does not contain any sugar, low in sodium and high in phosphorus, also rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, B12, D and E, which are necessary for the body’s general wellbeing.
